News » Plans for Randy Orton Vs Brock Lesnar Reportedly Dropped

When Brock Lesnar returned to the WWE, it was made pretty clear that he’d be targeting the company’s top stars, especially after his first appearance saw him hit John Cena with a devastating F5.
On last week’s Raw, Triple H himself even hinted that Lesnar would be feuding with the WWE’s biggest stars, spouting off a list of names that included CM Punk.
One of the other names on that list? Randy Orton
Many thought it was odd that Triple H would mention Orton as a potential opponent for Lesnar when the speculation had been that Orton would be Lesnar’s next major feud. Apparently, though, plans for a rivalry between Orton and Lesnar have already been scrapped.
According to F4Wonline.com (via SEScoops.com), "With WWE building towards a Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H match at SummerSlam, it’s been confirmed that plans for Lesnar to feud with Randy Orton have been scrapped."
Well, I think this was rather obvious.

And given that Lesnar is expected to be off of TV for a while, it also became evident that the Triple H-Lesnar match would likely happen at SummerSlam.
Thus, Orton vs. Lesnar at SummerSlam is off the cards. For now, that is.

Will Lesnar and Orton feud at any point?

Although I think we can pencil in Triple H vs. Lesnar for SummerSlam, Lesnar still has a ways to go on his WWE contract and will spend all of it competing against the WWE’s biggest names.
After SummerSlam, he’ll likely be done with Cena and Triple H, leaving guys like CM Punk, Orton and Sheamus as possible feuds for him in the fall and at the beginning of 2013.
While this is obviously a pure guess on my part, I think we could see Lesnar vs. Orton at Survivor Series to give that pay-per-view a big-time match that could pop a big buy rate.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see, though.
